CHANEL TOKYO EPHEREMAL BOUTIQUE has arrived in the middle of the city /in BA-TSU Art Gallery/ with its deep-ocean-gllory as the perfect background in every detail for CHANEL ss 2012 collection, inspired by the underwater world, of course. The concept is simply: to bring together and present in one place the whole collection, which actually very rare to experience – on the retail level. So we can find here not only easy-to-sell classic pieces but also some which not necessary you can find at your “local” CHANEL. There are some dresses here which exist only in quantity of few pieces in the world, there are some which arrived almost straight way from Paris catwalk, special edition sunglasses, shoes or bracelets and more. Everything here, the collection as well as the interiors, is about the under-the-sea textures: fish scales, waves, algae, mother of pearl, corals, sea “creatures”, sea foam, see-through-gelly…etc etc There are few screens showing video /surface of water/ as well as floating dresses in the air as part of an art-installation-dispaly.
I had the opportunity to be taken together with the one and only RILA san for the tour around the boutique – exploring the underwater kingdom of CHANEL. Experience which I didn’t expect to be so mesmerising.
