Let’s face it: autumn has arrived and it’s here in every corner of Tokyo. But that’ s ok, we needed a change. For some reason this year summer was far too long for me. It’ s time for new, maybe sometimes less festive and more “melancholic” but still enjoyable.
Last Saturday I was invited to the GILT City first-party-ever-in-Le Baron
“Love your City more. Find the Edge in Tokyo” – it’s a new concept
involving special performers. Well, outside maybe autumn, but inside still summer mood was definitely on.
It prompts a discovery of something new in the City we live. And Tokyo
has so much to offer. GILT CITY has chosen great DJs – my dearest
friend Kaskay, Tokyo Dandy, DJ Fujiko, Tamra
and on top of that added a live tap dancing performance, an edgy,
street-style tap-jamming session by Shoko Taniguchi.
The evening was a perfect recipe for the soul food: a pinch of gossip,
two pinches of silliness, generous dose of laughter,
a big dose of crazy dancing. All this with a bubbly, champagne-colored
dose of melancholy over the passing summer season.
It was so nice to see many of my friends, and quite a few new faces too.
And it’s not the last event, the rumor says GILT CITY will host many
more edgy events in the near future.
together with Kaskay
DJ Audrey /in the middle/ – part of Soft &Hard dj team
DJ Fujiko and DJ Peli
And what about GILT itself – it’s all about shopping!!! And every one loves that, no?
Please have a look:
http://www.gilt.jp/bancereki (membership invitation by my dear friend
Iwonka) – recently they had this amazing vintage watch selection sale
that made me think about the beauty and toughness of objects passed
over generations, and the different life stories that these watches
witnessed… I guess it just reminds me my fav grandpa.
Keep yourself warm,
