Actually I wanted to write about my beloved Wrocałw a bit later on, as I have some many other things to share with you. But I just need to mention this now: yeteraday Wrocław /Breslau/ got the title of European Culture Capital for 2016. I am so happy and so proud of it. And definitely it desereved it. Its amazing beauty, over 1000years history, rich and “mix”- culture&tradition, its over 100briges, thounsands and thounsands students, and any big new projects just boooming around and etc etc – make it a very special and trulely European City which was always kind of in the shadow of Cracow or Prague in this part of Europe. But not anymore!
Here I left a big chunk of my heart as well as a big chunk of my life I spent here. I gratuated at Acadamy of Fine Arts in this city and exactly here I met my first true LOVE, and that changed me forever.
Wroclaw is also known as Breslau – it’s a German name of the city as it used to be on the other side of the border for a long time. It came back to Poland after Second World War with heaps of people from Eatsern part of Poland /now mostly Ukraine/ moved over here. That’s history. That’s politics – moving borders all over the place, all together with people of course. It was one of the biggest migration in Europe at the time, I guess even of XX century. The History. I guess that is why of the reson Wroclaw has such a rich and “mix” culture and most of all it is a very OPEN for New and Others – means it’ s not that snobish as /with respect/ Warsaw, Carcow or Poznan. And just to mention it has a kind of a perfect location: just in the middle between Berlin, Pargue and Warsaw. Don’t miss it!!!
More about my Wroclaw soon,
