writing backwards: SOMEWHERE with LV and Sophia Coppola

with the sweetest Angel

Dear K.,

It s been a while since I spoke to you. Again. Craziness and Mess around and you do not even how and when your time is just flaying away. There is so much I want to tell you, so much I`d love to show you and I just… couldn’t. I stuck – somewhere between there and here, between then and now or maybe even tomorrow. Can I break the circle? The CIRCLE – yes, indeed now it is all makes sense to me. I wanted to write about SOMEWHERE by Sophia Coppola, anyway, and I just realized it is all about the CIRCLE too, or rather about breaking it up, getting out…, you could even call it awakening. I guess you have seen the movie already but here in Japan it is quite new, I mean basically it has not been released yet! I was just lucky that LV people invited me for little preview party, I didn’t attend the screening but thanks to courtesy of Louis Vuitton press office/again with love/ I watched the movie anyway. Basically I love Sophia Coppola, I mean her movies, the stories she is telling and the way she is telling them. Slow long cuts, somehow very poetic and usual in the same time, almost live-time like you are inside the movie. Great actors, this time: Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning. Great Music, this time: Phoenix, Sebastian Tellier, Foo Fighters and more. It was 100% Sophia Coppola and even more. Back to the circle: I won’t tell you much what is the story about, but there is a daughter and her famous-actor-young Dad and his slow, emotionless life. He is kind of trapped in it, spinning around, the vicious CIRCLE (?). In the first scene he is driving his car round&round, he stops the car and it’s like he cannot see where this whole thing /read: his life/ is going to, where he is heading – it’s the circle. Then there is the story. The daughter. Something happens and in the last scene he drives his car /again/, with no circles but… I cannot tell you this. WATCH IT, if you haven’t yet. I do not usually read movie reviews before watching the actual film, it is better not to, but just mention one thing: it won Golden Lions at Venice Film Festival and that means something – it means A LOT actually!!!

I can so relate to this circle syndrome badly right now. I stuck. I am repeating the same pattern. I am getting away and thinking I am so far but that’s not the truth as I get dragged back again to the same place. Oh K., if I could only have you here. Cut the link. Set me free, though I know it is my job thou. And it is funny and kind of amazing how I can see it now, clearly. Well, thanks to my great friends of course too. Please don’t do the same mistake. Love but allow to let it go too.

Sophia Coppola and Angela

Anyway, I got a bit too serious. Back to Louis Vuitton and SOMEWHERE preview party, I am sending some photos. And Sophia Coppola was there /I was too shy again but introduced myself and took quick pic of her and Angela/ and Stephen Dorff too and little live gig with Sebastian Tellier /amazing!!!/.
